After cooking school I moved into a tiny apartment on Perry Street in the West Village, then headed uptown to a sunny fifth-floor walk-up. Restaurant life left my days open, so I spent them at The Art Students League, then studied painting and traditional photography at Hunter College and digital photography at The International Center of Photography.
Along the way I interned at The Met, met my husband, got a dog, had two children, and found my way to Peter Hurley’s Headshot Crew.
Those years were about connecting with talented artists, stylists, and photographers, and working alongside new business owners and small companies to help them share their vision with the world. And photographing my own children, when they would let me.
It was exhausting and incredibly inspiring to have New York as the backdrop for my life and work. I carry all of it into every session I shoot today.
